Owji made the remarks on Wednesday while addressing the opening ceremony of the 27th edition of Iran Oil Show, a major energy exhibition that opened in Tehran with the presence of over 200 foreign firms.
Javad Owji said that 1,500 domestic and 200 foreign companies from 13 countries such as Russia, China, Germany, France, and Oman were represented in the event.
Owji also referred to 35% growth in the the presence of domestic companies, adding that the number of foreign firms attending the show had risen by 100%.
He described the event as one of the biggest exhibitions of its kind in the Middle East and the world.
Alexander Novak, deputy prime minister of the Russian Federation and the country’s former energy minister, is one of the top-ranking guests of Iran Oil Show this year.
The Oil Ministry spokesman Ali Forouzandeh said earlier this week that a forum would be held on the sidelines of the event involving 100 Russian companies and 200 firms from Iran.
In this year’s exhibition, a whole hall of the fair has been allocated to Russian and Chinese companies.
